Real Estate Paralegal

The Real Estate Paralegal is responsible for preparation of legal documents and litigation materials as well as responsible for legal filings with the Register of Deeds in multiple jurisdictions. This position also facilitates communication between legal counsel and company management as well as internal and external persons of interest regarding a wide variety of legal matters.

REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL ESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the preparation and filings of contracts, litigation and real estate documents including, but not limited to, titles, deeds, tax certificates, property management, foreclosures, and quiet titles
• Responsible for the preparation, revision and completion of foreclosure documents and filing with the Register of Deeds
• Oversight of multi-state case progression including quiet title and pre-deed litigation
• Coordinates input of notice parties to system
• Coordinates all noticing requirements including track of legal services
• Assists with real estate closings and liquidation of properties
• Case Management and timely progression for all eviction actions, partition actions, and quiet title actions
• Assists operations in modifying or streamlining any systems under their accountability
• Project workload and make determination on temporary onboarding as needed throughout the cycle
• Research and identify opportunities for new lien acquisition through expansion of existing markets or entrance into new markets as directed by Director
• Researches and prepares legal descriptions of land
• Monitors bankruptcy cases in association with properties owned by company
• Monitors financial transactions and closings
• Prepares documents for legal evictions
• Provides specialized training for current and future team members
• Provides legal research for lien services as well as extensive involvement in complicated litigation
• Processes invoices as needed
• Assists with tax sales as needed
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Certificate in field of study required
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Paralegal role, real estate experience/background a plus
• Highly organized and able to track a case from initial contact through closing
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
• Approaches challenges as opportunities with a positive, “can-do” attitude
• Able to process work quickly and accurately – dealing with interruptions, changing timelines and priorities on a regular basis
• Self-motivated, high inclusive individual that functions well in a fast-paced, high detail environment
• Willing to embrace technology to promote efficient operations
• Comfortable using software programs to process data and interpret results through critical thinking skills
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, SharePoint and Word programs as well as ability to learn and effectively operate computer and associated software programs – including but not limited to NetSuite and TrackVia

This full-time position offers competitive benefits and compensation package including two group health insurance options: PPO or HDHP plans, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance at nominal costs as well as additional individual policy offerings of Accident, Critical Illness and Hospitalization plans.
