Leading with Strategy and Experience
With nearly 15 years of experience in private capital investments, Matt brings deep expertise across multiple asset classes, including commercial real estate, energy, oil and gas, and healthcare. As CFO and a member of Sower’s Investment Committee, Matt plays a key role in shaping and executing the firm’s investment strategies, while ensuring sound risk management policies that safeguard and grow investor capital.
Expertise in Finance, Law, and Operations
In addition to leading investment strategy, Matt oversees analytics and due diligence, transactional structuring, and financial reporting. His multidisciplinary background in finance, accounting, and law allows him to approach complex investment opportunities with a comprehensive perspective that bridges technical detail with strategic vision.
A Strong Academic and Professional Foundation
Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, a specialization in Accounting from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and a Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He is both a licensed attorney in Nebraska and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), bringing a rare combination of legal and financial expertise to Sower.
Driving Growth and Delivering Value
Matt’s leadership has been instrumental in Sower’s continued growth, guiding both strategy and execution with steady insight and expertise. His ability to see the big picture while managing the details ensures that our investments are positioned to create long-term value for our partners.
Personally, Matt loves to travel. One of his favorite places to go is his family’s cabin on Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota.
