Ethan Branscum – Senior Director of Portfolio Management & Acquisitions
Ethan joined Sower in August of 2022 as the Senior Director of Acquisitions & Portfolio Management for Farmland. In this role, he oversees the investment analysis and acquisitions operations for both the Sower Farmland Fund and Legacy Farmland Fund. His expertise has been instrumental in the launch of the Legacy Farmland Fund, a 721 Exchange for Farmland, and has helped build a current acquisition pipeline to over $100MM in potential contributions. He is a member of the firm’s management team and is a participant of Sower Farmland Fund’s investment committee. Having grown up on his family’s farm in Arkansas, Ethan has always had a passion for farmland. He takes pride in investing in high quality farms for Sower investors.
Prior to Sower, Ethan has spent over a decade in the agricultural finance & investment industry. He has extensive experience in farmland and agribusiness finance with PGIM and the Farm Credit System. While at PGIM, Ethan led the origination analysis for the Midwest and Mississippi River Delta regions. He was also Vice President of Agribusiness and Capital Markets for AgHeritage Farm Credit in Little Rock, AR. In this role, Ethan managed the organization’s entire commercial lending portfolio as well as both the buy and sell sides of their capital markets portfolio which totaled $1.4B in AUM.
Ethan graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S.E. in Kinesiology and a M.S. in Agricultural Economics. Ethan resides in Little Rock, AR with his wife, Katie, and their 2 children. He enjoys traveling, hunting, golfing, and working on the family cow-calf farm every chance he gets.
